Control: Poetry Collection of Self Worth
This zine showcases a series of poems about the current beauty standards of women.
The imagery of this project was created by experimenting with different forms of wax, a common material used in women’s beauty products. These experiments included wax melts, lipsticks, lip balms, candles, and crayons.

Research
Research for this project was a bit different than any other project I have done. I had to experiment the properties of wax and products primarily composed of wax. I melted wax melts, lit candles in a dark bathroom, combined wax melts, used wax seals, melted crayons in a glass jar, layered crayons with melted lipstick, and even kissed a piece of paper to create a lipstick texture.

Final Zine
The final zine is a collage of the experiments conducted. The main paper texture was also an experiment, seeing how lip moisturizer on paper interacted with water. The photos were edited into various shades of pink because it is commonly associated with femininity.
