Speak Magazine
Speak is a series of magazines that covered a variety of topics. This article focuses on connections.
For this project, I was given an article of text about the impact of technology on our lives. The task was to create a magazine article for it based on Speak magazines
Research
To get an idea of how to match the style of Speak, I had to reference one of their magazines. I had to take in all the details, like the circles in between the page numbering and the name of the magazine being cut off on the side.
When I first got the article, I printed it out and made a grid based on the dimensions of the final magazine. This let me figure out where I wanted to potentially place the text, and where there would be room for imagery.
For the images, I compiled images of different types and depictions of technology. I was allowed to go into one of the storage closets on my college campus to take pictures of some broken and worn-down tech pieces.
Final Magazine
The final magazine compiles the images I took into a collage style. The color scheme is based on the CMYK colors.
