Travel Posters
This series of travel posters were designed based on the experience of studying abroad in each city.
I spent 8 days traveling around London, Paris, Florence and Rome. The experience has greatly impacted me, both within my design skills and my connections with the people I traveled with. I wanted to commemorate the experience by creating a series of posters for each city.

Inspiration
While abroad, I took several pictures of graphic design in each city I went to. I wanted to incorporate a style that was commonly seen in Europe.

Mood Boards
I created a series of mood boards to help me visualize the theme I wanted each poster to have. One set was monochrome and mainly focus on the most common color seen around the city. The other set uses two colors to encapsulate the feeling seen around each city. I ultimately chose the dual color theme over the monochrome one.

First Draft
My first draft of the posters focused on the main layout of landmarks in each city. There is one landmark that is in full detail in the middle of the poster. It acts as the symbol of the city. The landmark on the right has slightly more detail, but remains the primary color of the poster. The landmark on the left is shown in silhouette to create depth. The name of the city is placed below the primary landmark in the secondary color to match the primary landmark.

At this point, I thought that the posters could be improved by incorporating the culture more. So, to add part of each city to the posters, I decided to incorporate photos of various textures in the cities in the final posters. For example, the sky in the Rome poster incorporates a texture of the Colosseum walls. Here are some more textures used in the final poster.

Final Posters
The final poster features illustrated patterns with important elements of each city. The bottom of each poster is another landmark of each city. There are animals throughout the posters that have a significant importance to the cities. The birds in London are a symbol for Leicester square, the rooster is the national bird for France, the lions in Florence represent the Medici Lion, and the wolves in Rome represent the tale of Romulus and Remus.
